"Seeds of Resistance" the Book Launch

Smartly dressed men and women carrying coats and suitcases

On Saturday 8, June in Nottingham the "Seeds of Resistance" Nottingham Black Archive Book Launch takes place.

This absolutely unique event will feature poetry performances by Sarah ‘Rain’ Kolawole, Stanley O. Ayodeji, Manjit Sahota, and Panya Banjoko.'

My poem 'RIP Blues Dance' is amongst those being published in a publication described by the organisers as an 'eclectic mix of poetry, prose, artwork, and archival material by global ethnic majority creatives.'

The poem had been churning around inside of me for an age before being written --- and it reminds me in a strange way of a poem called 'Chicken Rock' that I wrote and recited on stage at Five Star Night Club, in Walsall, back in the day.

But that's another story.
